All abstracts must be submitted through the ‘ISFG Portal’, via the “Abstracts” page on the left-hand menu and choosing the corresponding call “Montreal - ISFG 2026 - Call for abstracts”.
Use the provided text fields in the Abstract Submission Call. There is no option to upload a document.
Abstract Submission Process
During submission, you will find three sections:
You will be asked to provide the title and abstract text (400-word limit) and preferred format (Oral or Poster). You must then select a maximum of two themes that best suit your abstract from a total of 15 available topics. Click the “Save abstract” button;
Add all authors and affiliations, including yourself, in the order that the authors agreed upon. Note that the order of authors should remain the same when later preparing your presentation/ poster/ proceedings. Click on “Save authors” button.
After carefully checking all the information, submit your abstract on the “Submit abstract” button.
Saving your data through the different stages allows you to leave and come back later to finish your submission. You may submit your abstract at any time until the deadline. You may withdraw the submitted abstract and submit a new one as long as the call for abstracts is still open.
Abstract Submission Deadline
The deadline for abstract submission is April 1st, 2026 at 18:00 (GMT-05:00) Eastern Time (US & Canada). Abstracts cannot be submitted after the deadline.
Presenting Author Requirements
The presenting author is the person submitting the abstract via the portal. The presenting author does not need to be the first author but must be a listed author.
A presenting author may submit and present no more than 1 abstract for consideration. The presenting author may be listed as co-author on an unlimited number of abstracts submitted for review. Please note that authors may not submit the same research; abstracts containing identical or nearly identical data from the same institution and/or individuals will be rejected.
Confirmation and Review Process
After having submitted your abstract, you will receive a confirmation e-mail. If not, please contact us, and we will double check if your submission has been submitted correctly.
You will receive another notification email when a decision about your abstract has been made. You can always check the status of your abstract via the portal.
Registration and Publication Conditions
The presenting author of an accepted abstract must register and pay to attend the Congress by May 31st, 2026, otherwise the abstract will not be published.
An extended abstract can only be published in the conference proceedings if the study is presented at the Congress.
